Drivers License Renewal at LTO – DLRC

Posted by raredog in A.U.T.S., ... | 04.06.2009 - 8:17 am

Its been more than a week before I’ve noticed that my driver’s license is already expired. Actually, the same thing happened to me the last time I’ve renewed it. Signs of Alzheimer’s lol!

This would be my first time to renew at an LTO-DLRC (Drivers License Renewal Center). I’ve chosed the one that’s near my place, at Robinsons Metro East, Marcos Hiway Pasig City. Located besides the big grocery section, the DLRC office has around 10 employees and 30 seating capacities for waiting applicants. Although there’s no area rugs for elegant ambiance, it has air-conditioning that makes it much more comfy compare to their traditional offices with fans only.

Got there at around 10:05am ,basically the process are:

1. Go to window 1 and present your expired license
2. A form will be given to you. Fill-out the form
3. Pay the medical and drug test fees (P100 Medical + P300 Drug Test)
4. Take the medical and drug test
5. Submit back the form, medical/drug test certificate back to window 1
6. Next is at window 6 for capturing your photo and signature
7. Then pay the License Fee at window 5
a. License Fee – P350
b. Penalty – P75 (pag lumampas kayo sa expiration date)
c. Comp Fee – P57.63
Total P492.63
+P400.00 (Med/DT)
Grand Total P892.63 (at least bring P1000 bucks for sure)

Got hold of my spanking Drivers License at around 11:30am, one hour and a half, not bad at all, just in time to have lunch and some window shopping inside the mall.

Just a tip. DLRC Robinsons Metro East opens at 9am, you just have to enter at the side entrance of the mall. And don’t forget to bring a ballpen. (Me ballpen dun pero its P10 bucks, pang yosi din hehe).

@lou – Im not in a position to say yes. Although, I think its possible. Just bring the expired license. An appropriate penalty will be added for sure.

ATTN.: stunning28 (maybe you could suggest what could be done also :) thanks)

Just had my license renewed in LTO Malate (Puregold) and took me one hour and thirty minutes exactly. Took some time since there was only one (1) cashier servicing everybody!!! I know there are DLRCs but this office was the nearest to mine. But I have no complains since I was able to renew my license without meeting rude people.

Prior to this, I tried renewing in DLRC Ayala MRT branch. Yes, there was no line and it could’ve taken 45 minutes tops to finish the entire process but, I arrived at 5:30 pm in the afternoon (tried to catch their closing of 6 pm) but their medical facility had their cut-off at 5 pm!!!!! I tried to suggest to the supervisor to request their partner medical facility to open during their office hours also, but I met the rudest and service “disoriented” bunch of people (and they call themselves civil servants except for one who might be working for Stradcomm or an outside agency for Stradcomm)in the planet!!! Their names are Haydee Basibas (of Stradcomm or an agency of Stradcomm) and a Mr. Diomampo (who was busy eating and it’s not even breaktime, note this was 5:30 pm). I didn’t catch the head’s name but there is only one supervisor and she knows who she is. They were even proud that their names are on their office’s wall. Anyway, in an unrelated incident, I know someone who came there before 12 and come 12 noon, they declared lunch break and there were 3 clients in the room! Kudos to this group of workers, New Year’s nearing, I wish you’d change.

Anyway, the above made me aware that the medical results are valid for a year! I wish LTO will consider office worker’s annual physical exam results so that only the drug test will be needed. Maybe it could eliminate the (in my opinion) unreasonable cutoff time of the medical facilities in LTO offices and DLRCs.

DLRC in Rob Galleria and LTO in Marikina are okay by the way. I have been reading good reviews from the employees of DLRC in Tiendesitas too. To these offices, keep up the good work! :D

@Elmo – thanks for the DLRC review. Im sure they got your point.

to stunning28,

Nagka drivers license po ako last 2002 at nag expire last 2005. May motor na po ako ngayon and i need to renew my drivers license. Thank you..
