First of all your GSIS E-Card must have a balance of at least P200 because Paypal will deduct a fee, but will be returned to you on your first transaction with them. Then just apply directly at Paypal’s site. There you will be ask to enrol a credit/debit card to become a verified member. Use the GSIS ecard info to fill up their form. Then wait for at least one week before calling the Unionbank hotline and get your expuse number. HTH

I used my mother’s gsis e-card. I was able to enrolled it on union bank’s online banking. Unfortunately there’s only P71.00 left on the ecard, that’s why I can’t, at this time, verify my paypal account. May be, you should first enrolled it on Union Bank’s online banking facility. Kaya lang, sobrang tagal at ang bagal mag reply ng call center/ support team nila. Basta have patience, they will reply naman…

Pag na enrolled muna, go to your paypal, and enter the card number, etc etc… But, before doing it, i believe you should inform Union Bank that you will use it (gsis e-card) to paypay. I preferred email than making a call. Because if you make a call, and you make a demand that they should do that or do this, then at some point it would be useless because you also have to wait (they will advise you for that, may be also a week) and also the transaction wasn’t on their calendar for the day. So email would be better, so they could prepare and heed for your demand…

If paypal accepts the gsis ecard, i believe, you will see the EXPUSE NUMBER on the GSIS-ECARD online banking facility…

Di ko maiverify eh, laging denied by the bank. may laman naman yung ecard. naienroll ko na rin ito sa union bank’s online banking at nakakalogin na ako pero denied pa rin yung card ko sa paypal eh.

I have the same problem as you. Na dedeny parin. Have contacted or emailed UnionBank regarding the problem? Ang alam ko, baka nag aupgrade sila. Kasi yung classmate ko, nag apply ng EON CARD nya, sobrang tagal bakit di nya ma pick up yung card. So, tumawag ciah sa hotline, ang sabi nag uupgrade daw sila, tapos magchachange daw sila ng background ng card kaya matagal daw release ng card nila… Waaahh, what you think? Anu sabi sayo?

kailan nag-apply yung clasmate mo ng eon card. Ako kasi dahil laging deny yung ecard, nag-apply na rin ako ng eon card last sept 8. sabi sa akin after 2 weeks daw makukuha na yung card pero tumawag ako sa kanila eh wala pa rin daw. Pero may nabasa ako sa isang forum na 1 week lang eh nakuha na nya yung eon card, last month sya nag-apply.

Di ba gamit niyo ang ecard ng mom niyo.. so di yan mag-match sa paypal account niyo. Puwede ba yon? Kasi plano kong gamitin ang ecard ng lola, so kelangan bang gawan ko siya ng paypal account para mag-match ang name ng card at ng paypal account?

Paano mo na successfully enrolled yong ecard ng mom mo? I’ve tried to enroll my lola’s ecard kaya lang ang sabi, invalid account id daw.. at dun nagpo-point sa account number. I’ve read the others post na kelangan puntahan ang branch ng unionbank to get the account number.. kaya lang, sa dinami-dami ba namang bank nandito, unionbank pa ang wala! So paano ko makukuha ang account number ng lola ko? Puwede ba thru email? If puwede, anong ibibigay kong info?

hello po, im having similar problems with you guys. i need to create a paypal account but until now i cant verify it since i dont have a credit card, and only my debit card which is my gsis ecard. the problem is i cant get it enrolled since i still dont have the “account number” info that is required, i tried to contact their toll free so many times and i just cant get through, i emailed them last tuesday, and today is already wednseday and still no reply from them it’s even harder for my case i guess since we dont have unionbank branch here in dumaguete, so i dont know how to deposit the required balance of 200 pesos in my account… i hope you can help me guys… thanks in advance, God bless!

Ask ko lang ha, kanino ba yang GSIS e-card na gamit mo? Kasi ang e-card na gagamitin ko ay sa lola ko kasi pensioner siya tapos dyan hinuhulog yong pension niya instead of check so sinabi ko na lang sa kanya na magtira ng at least 200 para ma-connect ko naman.

sa akin nka pangalan ung ecard, i work kasi in the government actually i asked our liaison officer regarding union’s in-effective customer service, at sabi nya meron daw ibang number na pwedeng tawagan, hindi daw toll free, ask ko pa dun sa officemate ko na naka subok ng tumawag. pero if ever nga mkuha ko na ung account ko, mahirap pa rin kasi hindi naman ako maka deposit ng 200.00, kelangan ko pa pumunta either cebu or bacolod para lng dun, super hassle talaga…

kelangan ko kasi sana ang paypal as money transfer from a friend abroad, since mura lng ang charge nla… um ask ko lng, i came across sa internet regarding xoom, may idea ka ba regarding this?

Ah yeah, global money trasfer din ang xoom. Kagaya din ng paypal yan. Mas mababa yong sending fee nila kaysa sa western union.

ang ecard namin na mga employees ginagamit mainly for loans namin sa gsis so if mg aapply kami ng loan, sa ecard namin dinedeposit ng gsis ung loan na na grant nila for us. we have separate bank for our atm payrolls.

i just asked my officemate re: unionbank’s customer service number and he gave me this number (02) 840 4667 sa manila office ito ng unionbank and hindi xa toll free since long distance xa, pero they would definitely be able to give you your account number just supply them with the needed info about the cardholder (your lola) e.g. birthdate, birthplace, etc.

although for me ive decided not to contact them muna since hindi rin ako mkaka deposit ng 200.00 sa account ko, tapos mahal pa ang charge ng landline per minute..

Magloan ka na lang kaya? para magkalaman ung ecard mo kasi mababayaran mo rin agad kasi you would do it lang for the sake of verifying ur paypal acct.

I used my gsis card to pay merchant in an online transaction in the USA thru paypal last May 2008. It was successful. But later around June, July and August, dinedeny na and transaction ko. I went to our Union office and the rep couldn’t explain. I sent e-mail and it took them ages to reply and explained there is an ‘indefinite’ interconnectioin problem and just offered to replace my e-card (not solving the problem actually). Their toll free numbers are not helpful. Palaging nagriring wala naman nagsasagot. I do not know if the paypal facility and union bank is working now. I am still paying thru money order (bank draft) for the mean time kasi hindi maasahan ang paypal facility ng gsis e-card. Hope this helps. Jeri, let me know if okay na. ty

Yes,gawa ka na lang ng other paypal account na ang info ay sa dad mo. Yan ang planong gagawin ko. Di pa kasi nagreply and union bank customer rep. sa email ko about the acct number ng lola ko. Kailangan din kasing makuha mo yong account number thru tawag or email. Sa tawag, halos di ka maka-connect. Sa email naman, halos 2 weeks na, wala pang reply. And tagal talaga. Ang first email ko, more than 1 week ang inabot bago ako nakarcv ng reply.

Alam mo ba ang account number ng Ecard plusa ng dad mo? Kasi kailangan mo pang tawagan or mag email sa kanila para ibigay yong account number dahil if ang gamit mong mga numbers ay yong makikita sa card mismo, ay hindi yan ang account number. card number lang yan. If may union bank sa place niyo, puntahan niyo na lang at iask niyo ang account number ng card ng dad mo. Ako nag email lang at 2 weeeks na, wala pa ring reply! Ang tagal ng customer service nila. nakakairita na talaga.

Yes i know all my dad’s numbers… pero wala pa rin eh… denied pa rin..ang ginawa ko na nalang pag Tuesday was I bought VCC…ayun verified na hindi nga lang ako makapagwithdraw gamit yung ecard ni papa. Gamit nalang ako ng XOOM para makuha ko yung money ko.

Ewan ko talaga kung bakit denied yung ecard… grrrrrrr nakakainis ang unionbank.

Irereject talaga pag hindi enough ang funds na nasa ecard. Kelangan talaga na may at least 250PHP para maverify. Pagcheck ko 175 lang. LOL. I think this is why my dad’s ecard was denied.

Try mo ulit iverify ang paypal using ur dad’s ecard pero at least may 200 pesos na laman kasi credit/debit card and ecard kaya almost 2 dollars lang ang minimum.250 pesos ang minimum pag bank account ang gamit. Ready na ang sa lola ko kaya lang, more than 2 weeks na, hindi ko pa alam ang account number niya kasi ang tagal2x magreply ng taga union bank. nakakainis na talaga ang service nila.

Hindi makikita sa ecard ang bank code. kahit anong card ay pareho lang ng bank code. Anyways, since it’s from union, ang bank code ay 010419995

Hay, sana magreply na sila kasi kailangan ko na talagang maverify yong account ko para mawithdraw ko na yong earnings ko online. hehe. Oi, try mo ulit yong sa dad mo okay pag may at least 200 na ang laman and let me know if successful! Dito ka lang reply okay para malaman ko.

Hello there. Guess, nobody is paying attention to my previous posting. Just recently tried it again. No luck. You can’t use your e-card to back up your paypal account because unionbank have not yet fixed that problem with paypal and visa. Before, I was successful in using my e-card with visa and with paypal. That was before, around May 2008 (see my previous posting), now it is indefinitely not working (keeps on denying it). Still using international bankdraft which is more expensive and slow. Hope this helps.

@Ponce – Ur case is quite rare. You actually used the e-card before and now its not working? As for me. my gsis e-card is still working. Although nung ginamit ko siya minsan sa mall eh denied yung card kahit me funds naman. Magulo nga minsan I suppose. But receiving money thru paypal still works flawlessly.

I think you don’t have to call the bank using GSIS e card to get the paypal code as it will reflect sa transaction sa internet banking nito (that is, kung na enroll ang e-card for internet banking). But I’m not yet sure about this. Sa paypal website ko kasi mismo nabasa na once may internet banking naman ang account mo, mababasa ito sa transaction description.

i just want to post this inquiry and hope some of you may answer this. My wife is a holder of the eCARD plus. i just want to know if i can use its feature as a debit card when purchasing items online.? Apparently when i tried it today at iTUNES app store of apple purposely to download apps and songs for my iPOD touch, an error appeared indicating that my 3-digit security code that can be found at the back portion of the card is invalid. I entered my card number and the security code when prompted but according to the app store they are invalid. Anyone who was able to succesfully use it as debit card to purchase items on-line? need help. thanks.

im also an ecard holder, last year i tried to use its feature as a debit card to withdraw funds from my paypal account, i researched about it here in the net and ive read from a forum at pinoymoneytalk.com that you have to enroll your ecard online to be able to use it, so i went to gsis’ website and then to unionbank, the bank partnered to gsis, and went through their online process, but then i reached a dead end since for your ecard to be enrolled online you have to have an account number with unionbank which can not be found on the ecard itself or from any other documents given by gsis together with the ecard. what you have to do daw is to ask for your account in any unionbank branch. since wlang branch ang unionbank dito sa dumaguete, i tried to call their toll free numbers for visayas since this is where i reside, hindi sya gumagana, a co employee advised me na kelangan daw talaga ung hotline mismo sa manila ang gamitin, ang mahirap lng my charge na sya and you dont know ganu katagal ang conversation kasi call center ung tatawagan mo. so if you reside in manila or have a unionbank branch near just go there and ask for your wife’s account number for her gsis ecard, if wala you have no choice but to call their hotline. in case you want to know what happened in my case, i didnt pursue nlng withdrawing my paypal funds using my ecard kasi i dont have a unionbank branch near me tapos mahal pa ang charge pg tatawagan ko ang hotline nila, i have to go pa to cebu or bacolod na merong unionbank, in the end mas malakai ang cost kysa sa benefit na makukuha ko. so what i did was i just used my paypal funds to purchase items online sa ebay philippines, wla pa akong gasto
