Two great schools from the province of Rizal were recently awarded as the Outstanding ICT Implementer in the recent “2007 Division Search for the Outstanding Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Implementer”.

One is the Rizal National Science High School – A Secondary Public Science High School located in Jose P. Rizal St., Batingan, Binangonan, Rizal, Philippines and the other is Nuestra Se├▒ora de Aranzazu Parochial School – A Private Coeducational School located in the heart of San Mateo Rizal, Philippines.

Being a member of the evaluating team is a wonderful experience for me. For we (the DRICT Team) became exposed to all the high-tech computer laboratory and equipments of the different participating schools (mostly from the private schools). And also became aware of what is lacking in terms of ICT on some public schools. Although I admit that it is also very tedious(travelling north and south of Rizal province for 7 days).

Not to mention that it really gave us headaches on our final evaluations because a lot of them have edge to one another and vice-versa.

By the way our team are composed of Mr. Buddy Chester Repia (our Division ICT Coordinator), Grace Cenina, Carlo Gonzal and myself.

DRICT – Acronym for Deped Rizal Information and Communications Technology, conceptualized by me and the logo design was a collaborative work with Carlo “kabutto” Gonzal.

high school computer teacher from private school here… i hope there would also be an organization or committee for ICT here in our place (Tarlac). And here in my school we don’t have any ICT coordinator, just me, the sole computer teacher of the 1st – 4th year students, I also design our curriculum and the computer laboratory custodian… Nice to know this site… great…
