While doing my free grocery shopping courtesy of my reward cards, I thought about how the recent crisis (earthquake and tsunami) in Japan would affect the world, especially when it comes to the economy. With Japan being a leader in the electronics and automobile business, are we to expect pricier cars and more expensive video games?
With online gaming publishers like Square Enix Holdings Co. shutting down their Final Fantasy XIV servers because of power concerns to automobile manufacturers temporarily shutting down their production line due to manufacturing concerns, this cannot simply have no effect to the techie world of this generation. And let’s not forget the nuclear scare that’s happening, will this make us more scared of dealing with Japanese products and eventually Japanese people?
I guess Japan will temporarily soften down their visa requirement to give way for engineers and laborers abroad to help them recuperate from their recent horrendous disaster. I hope they can rebuild their homes and their lives sooner.
