Batista – You make the Filipinos proud

In line with sports, our country is gaining respect all over the world by our world-class athletes like PAENG NEPOMUCENO, EFREN BATA REYES, and MANNY PAQUIAO. 

And now, every Filipino should be proud once again, as a new international figure with Filipino blood in his veins are famous in the field of wrestling.

He has a Filipino father and a Greek mother and his name is David Michael Bautista a.k.a. Batista. He has two children to a Filipina,  and loves to eat Filipino dishes, one of his favorites is the chicken adobo. To show that he really loves the country (Makabayan), he got himself tattooed a Philippine flag on his arm together with the flag of Greece.

He recently visits the country to promote the WWE SmackDown! Survivor Series Tour, he and other World Wrestling Entertainment superstars will be in town for three days for the WWE SmackDown! Survivor Series Tour at Araneta Coliseum on October 21-22.

Batista Shining Moments:

He said he came from a poor family and he was not able to finish his studies. He worked as a bouncer then got into professional bodybuilding to fulfill his dreams.

Batista defeated 10-time world champion Triple H with his devastating Batista Bomb to become the world heavyweight champion.

He is a former bouncer that met Curt Henning & Road Warrior Animal at a bodybuilding show in Minneapolis. He went to the WCW Power Plant for a tryout, and in another bad decision, WCW decided that he would never make it as a wrestler. He was trained by Wild Samoan Afa and made his wrestling debut in 1997.
Batista started off his career working for Afa’s WXW promotion under the name Kahn. Shortly after, he signed a WWE developmental deal and wrestled in Ohio Valley Wrestling. While there, he was known as Leviathan and Demon of the Deep. He would debut for WWE in May 2002.

Batista made his WWE debut on the 5/9/02 edition of SmackDown! He was the bodyguard for Reverend D-Von Dudley and held the collection plate. After a few months he left D-Von and SmackDown!. He debuted on the 11/4/02 edition of RAW and quickly aligned himself with Ric Flair. On the 1/27/03 edition of RAW, Evolution is formed with Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista.

Mabuti pa tong si Batista na mesttisong Pinoy marunong tumangkilik sa pinahmulan ng magulang niya. Ton’g mga great pretenders dito sa Amerika, mga pango naman ang ilong at dala pa rin ang matigas na “accent” ng bayan nila sa Pilipinas pero akala mo maputi pa sa amerkano magpa-islang-islang! ” Hani!
