dirty (Custom)

It’s a wonderful feeling to be part of history, as me and Rusty (my Yamaha SZ which I customized into a Brat Tracker) was included on the list of participants for the First Philippine Custom and Classic Flat Track Racing and Clinic titled “Keep It Dirty”! It was organized by Café Racer Philippines and was held last May 14, 2016 at MX Messiah Fairgrounds in Taytay, Rizal.

It’s a whole day racing activity so mejo nasunog na naman balat ko hehe. I enjoyed the event together with my son Kevin and his girlfriend plus some of my amigos from Viajista that I invited to watch my race.

The hunk actor and motorcycle enthusiast Jericho Rosales was there to support the event and at the same time to compete. I admire his passion on motorcycle that I’ve seen him so hyper that day joining almost all categories. Sadly, he also joined my category (150cc and above) with his Ducati Scrambler. Ouch! Sayang at sure na sana ako kasama sa top three wahhh!

IMHO, It’s supposed to be the time for custom build and classic motorcycle to SHINE but I feel we weren’t given the proper exposure and recognition as the organizer let enduro’s joined the race. As we all know, enduro motorcycle are built for rough terrain, and flat tracks is like that. Bottomline, the major categories (kasama na yung category ko) have enduro riders as top finisher, isn’t that great lol!

There are lots of raving and whining from the pit where most custom bike riders like me standby and rest, all have the same sentiments. I can still recall a funny scene during the event where from the starting point I saw four riders about to race, one is riding his custom made café racer and I guess you can imagine the remaining three. Yeah you’re right, all enduro’s! Eh di wow!  The fairgrounds wasn’t fair at all haha!

Kudos to the organizer because the sport and the concept was cool, I only wish they stick to the plan na classic and custom bikes ONLY. Kase what will be the impression of the audience after watching this kinda race, its either maguguluhan or magugulat kase ganun pala ang rulings.

I anticipate there would be a second leg to this event. I wish na sana naman i-polish na nila ang rules para mas happy ang classic and custom builder riders. #keepitdirty
