Backflip – Practice Made Easy

I have been a BMX rider during the nineties. And I have experienced doing some vert and flatland tricks. Like lookback, can-can, tabletop, one-footer, one-hander, and cancan are some of what I can my aerial moves. Then on freestyle I can do a miami hopper, cherry picker, decade, whiplash, and my favorite tail-spin.

Never did I imagine that BMXers nowadays would perform a double tail-whip on air! “OMG that guy must have sold his soul to the devil!” Its a figure of speech by our group whenever we saw awesome stunts that are very so difficult to duplicate.

If only we have this kind of place to practice those amazing bmx stunts during our heyday, I could have done backflip too. The first time I saw a backflip was with the movie “Helltrack” with Jose Yanez doing it during a bmx race. Anyway I’ve seen Pinoy BMX riders are now somehow at par with their foreign counterpart, as the last time I have watched a BMX sport event at the Westgate Automall Parking Area in Filinvest Alabang where many pinoy riders are doing backflips like taking candy from a baby.

I’m pretty certain I couldn’t do a back flip even with wires and good computer animation! ;o( Cool, though, that there are places like this to ride and practice.

Practice makes it perfect I guess :D

Can’t argue with that!
