This is how the story goes…

It just happened that I have two 100 peso bill on my pocket. The first 100 bill left my pocket when I gas up my ride. Then I went to a this botica to buy a couch syrup for my stubborn cough. The sales clerk is kinda jerky as I order the cough syrup. She ask, tell and brag anything about this cough syrup, saying something like (Sir hiyang ba sa inyo ito? Mabisa ito at mura pa!, Eto ba madalas nyong bilhin? etc…)

After nodding to all that she says. She finally hand it over to me then I paid her with my remaining 100 bill. She saw me having difficulty reading the brand name (because at that time I’m not wearing my eyeglass).

Afterwards she came forward while I was still figuring out the brand name and hand over my change. I got surprised that its only P13 pesos when the cough syrup only cost P37 pesos. She should have gave me P63.I asked her hurriedly about my incorrect change which she likewise quickly reacted by displaying a P50 peso bill she blatantly stretched with her two hands. “Sir this is what you gave me!” she said. I’m kinda startled of her quick reaction (nakuha ako sa biglaan) and at the same time confused with what she says, I still nod and told her OK. But deep in my mind, I know there’s something wrong here.

Its only on my way home that I realized I was deceived by that botica sales clerk at Greenpark.

The fact that;

1. I only have 100 peso bill
2. The P50 she was holding was supposed to be included on my change from my P100 (P63 dapat pero yung P13 lang inabot nya)
3. Let’s just say that the P50 bill is mine. She goes to the cash register, got my P13 pesochange, then came back to me still holding the P50? Isn’t that kinda weird?
4. She’s a real mean con-girl so BEWARE!!!!

I decided to go back, but wattaheck, pamasko ko na lang sa kanya yun!

But this time t’was was really OUTRAGEOUS!!! I’m really really dissappointed and fed up! Imagine waking up in the morning only to found out that all my websites (I got 5)  were TOTALLY wiped-out online!

Here’s the scenario.

Two days prior to the WIPED-OUT thing. I recieve a billing invoice for my account. Its a 1-month bill instead of my usual billing for a 6-month (semi-annual)package.  Mind you, I’ve just paid them last month! Ok, then I emailed them back to correct my billing cycle. On which they responded with

“Thank you for contacting us.

I already corrected your package’s billing cycle, and canceled your current monthly invoice as well. ”

So I thought everything was ok now. Then the next day after, came another email from them again. It came during the wee hours of the morning when I was sleeping, around 3am. I usually open my email at around 8 or 9am.

Here’s their email.

This is a notification that your service has now been suspended. The details of this suspension are below:

Domain: #######.com

Amount: Php###.00

Due Date: 03/23/2010

Suspension Reason: Overdue on Payment

How in h3ll did I get a suspension, when I’ve just recently paid them my dues???

Ok, I emailed them back, and here’s their response

We’re very sorry. I didn’t noticed that your account’s expiration was set to 03/23/2010, instead of 03/23/2011. In that case, our system automatically terminated your account the moment our cron did its job.

I furiously emailed them back and asked them to restore my account immediately for I got deadlines to beat!

If you are not able to provide a backup at this time, I think it would be best if we’ll put a splash page on your main index so your visitors won’t think that your website was gone/closed. Is that okay with you?

I am extremely sorry for this. I will see to it that your account will get an extension or a rebate to give way for this issue. We hope you understand.

I told them my I got no recent backups for my sites, and they reply

Since you are not subscribed to any backup plan, we do not hold any backup of your account. So we can only restore your account through a file which you will be sending to us. I am sorry.

BS! Can you see that! All along they know that I’m not subscribe to their backup plan, and yet they suspend my account immediately (for just a meager amount..WTF!!!) without bothering on contacting me first?! What happen to all my contact information (mobile phone…etc..)  on my profile? What’s the use of that? And besides, I don’t know of any backup plans they have in the first place!

Ok, all my sites are gone, deadlines aren’t met, time is wasted and moolah’s gone into air, and that’s all they can do, say sorry. It’s obviously their mistake! Isn’t it? whatever happen to customer CARE?? That’s final! I’m changing host bcoz I’m not jolly with them anymore!

I decided to made a U-turn and go to their paid parking which is around 500-600 meters from the free parking. I approached the parking teller and told him my plate number as I usually does. On which he responded by saying “Sir hindi po dito ang entrance, dun po sa kabila” A bit shock and irritated since I have to circle again for another half kilometer,  I replied “Dito ako lagi dumadaan papasok ah?! To which he just shrugged.

“Walandyo! Magbabayad ka na nga ayaw ka pang papasukin, samantalang sandamakmak ang kotse, van at AUV’s around the mall na naka-park ng libre eh ok lang?! Hayy!”

I instead leaved the place and rode to the next mall, then bought the things I needed hassle-free! If you live from the East Side you’ll probably know this mall which is near a former president highway.

Bad loser maybe? Sourgraping – yes I think you can call me that! But that’s what I really feel after joining this so called kaka-loka video contest. It is sooooh unfair!  Grabe pagkakaluto! Hindi lang medium rare, Well done talaga! This contest are biased! Who were the judges? Why don’t they even show the score/rating of each entry, or present as to how and why did it win? Paano yun turo-turo na lang?

To be true to you guys,I got so deeply involved with this contest that a lot of my personal time went to this. I said to myself that if my entry wasn’t good enough in the eyes of the judges, I will try naman the popularity tactics (which is one of the contest criteria). Dun naman ako babanat, at least kung mababa man ang rate ng video ko, me pang-bawi naman ako. So I made my blog and video link scattered to some sites and forums. Inviting friends, relatives (at kung sino-sino pa) to view my video, etc…etc.. It actually became part of my daily routine that begins last second week of July.  It was tedious yet fruitful.

After several days my blog post can be seen on all major search engines. Got the top position at Big G Blog Search for about a week! And believe it or not its still in the number one position on MSN (for the contest keyword) as of this writing! The video got the same results too! (a thousand views plus some nice comments). So sabi ko atleast me panglaban na ako.

Im not holding a grudge to any of the entries (halos lahat pinaghirapan at magaganda concept and styles). Pero paanong hindi ka naman mabwi-b****t eh napaka unprofessional the way they conducted the contest. They initially set a deadline. Tapos out of the blue bigla na lang na-amend yung rules? Sana kung before nung said deadline na-annouced na extended. Eh ang kaso tapos na deadline nung maisip nilang i-extend???

After the original deadline we were five contestants! And with that in mind, I feel a bit relaxed knowing that the sponsor has four major prizes at stake, so chances of winning is somehow magnanimous (kahit 4th placer man lang di ba?). Then two days before the announcement of winners, I found out that we were abruptly became seven! What the f**k! How? Why?

They don’t even bother to announce it on their site. Instead, I got this information that one of the contest organizer asked in public “kuno” via some social networking service (what about those who don’t have these?) if they like the contest to be extended. In which apparently a good number of people said “Yes”! What about us contestants? Don’t we have the rights to know also that its being extended?

Okay, so a lot of them said yes! Fair. Let’s extend the contest ekek. Then here comes the most tastiest part of the lutong macao. Its this simple. If a lot of them show signs of eagerness to extend the contest then why there’s only two who submitted??? With emphasis on the last one who submitted because he’s a buzzer beater (with only just a matter of hours after the new deadline) isn’t that quite obvious? Its like the whole extension thing is suited just for him??? If I were the judge, that video is the best for me! Ang galing eh! Kaso nga lang….Delicadeza where are youuuuuu?

Para bang nagpa-contest ka sa jungle ng Cat-Look-Alike Contest, then you let a kitten join! Of course me iba pa bang mananalo? Or have you heard of this sabong story where a man brings a duck inside a sabungan for a cockfight, and amazingly the duck wins! hahaha!

A day before the main event. Mejo malata na pakiramdam ko. I even told some contestants na parang na fo-forecast ko na what will happen next. The bad thing is I still went there because of some agitated supporters telling me na “punta ka bro sayang, baka mali lang yung perception mo”.

You might ask. What if I won? Would I still post this rant? Hmmmmm depende sa prize, lol! Sori sa mga nasagasaan ko with this post. I hope you understand. I just have to let it go or I’ll burst.

Anyway. Life goes on… Thanks for this experience. I actually became much closer to God, (kaka pray manalo hehe)  I actually found a new sets of friends who are all great movie makers. I salute you guys! And to all that helped and supported me throughout this contest. Maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyo! Peace to all!

Then after bringing it home. I followed accurately the manual that goes with it. And within a few minutes I was joyfully browsing the internet flawlessly on my desktop. But wait, I almost forgot. I bought this for my laptop and not my desktop! lol

So my desktop which is connected thru the lan port of the router via UTP cable can browse, chat and everything, so no problem with that. I then focused on this router for almost six hours yesterday (ILP – ihi lang pahinga) trying to configure it to connect to my laptop, but to no avail. The unit won’t cooperate at all. It just gave me migraine! Wahhh!!!

Got up early this morning, a bit refresh (albeit 4 hours of venetian night sleep only) Searched for some help on the net. I found out that I’m not the only one experiencing this problem. I did tried once more to configure the settings based from all the tips I’ve gathered, but still no luck.  By the way my laptop is tried and tested at hotspots on malls and at our office.

I don’t know If I’m missing something on the instruction details but for sure I’m gonna ride the high country in going back to the shop and ask for:

a. Assistance
b. Replacement
c. or better yet a REFUND!

After explaining my dilemma to the store clerk. She understood the situation and make a phone call to her boss for the final decision. And in just minutes she gave me a refund.

Got the itch to join the contact center bandwagon. I’m giving myself a hiatus and would try my luck with this high-tech career. I’m not good in my enunciation so I applied for a non-voice position, and that is a Driver Risk Analyst, which I think I’m very much qualified, since they are looking for those who have 1 year experience and I’ve got 13.

I recieved an initial interview call from the company where I submitted my resume and was scheduled to dropby at their office for my second interview and some test. So I went to their office as scheduled. We were 14 applicants that morning. At around 10am I was again interviewed and was told that I would go to a series of exams (including the video exam, analyzing the performance of the driver on the video) and immediately after the interview, I took two written exams (abstract and grammar). When I was finished I was told to have my lunch and then go back at around 1:30pm.

I returned at around 1:10pm and sit at the lobby altogether with my 13 mates that morning and some other walk-in applicants. Then at around 1:45 the person from the Test Room called all my mates for the next series of test. “Hey you forgot about me?” I told myself.

Why I wasn’t called was a mystery to me. But still I waited at the lobby. It’s already past 3:00pm, and my temper is rising (even if the atmosphere is super cold). Somebody from the lobby suggest that I should go to the Test Room and ask if they missed calling my name. Without any ideas I simply complied and go directly to the Test Room, I approached them nicely and asked If my name was already called. After checking their charts, they told me to have a seat and they then gave me another exam. (Ahhh ok. I’m back on track!).

The exam was difficult, and it was the longest exam they gave to me that day. (30 minutes time limit). After this, all I have to do is concentrate on the crucial video exam, which I needed to pass in order to be hired.

30 minutes later and the Test Room guy took my questionaire and answer sheet. I saw him put it on the shelves and not on the table where other questionaire and answer sheets are lying. In about less than 5 minutes, he then positioned himself outside, near the door, and from there he called me.

Got my things and went to him. And to my dismay he said “Im sorry Sir but you have failed to meet the requirements for the position, but you can apply again if you like after six months.” (WTF!!! What kind of evaluation does this HR have?) I was stunned and totally speechless as I walked away.

What happen to the last exam I’ve taken? (they shouldn’t let me take it when they wouldn’t bother checking it) Or does it even count considering it was long and difficult? How about the video exam, the most important exam that supposed to evaluate me for the position? What kind of procedure is this????

I did not post this because I was sour graping or else for that matter. Hence, I was disgruntled on how they’ve done my evaluation. Who knows they may also continue doing it to other/s applicants. Be fair and square guys!

Clue: The company name sounds like a web language.
