This is my second time to travel abroad and my first time in Hongkong, and boy do I feel really excited upon arrival at Chek Lap Kok Airport. Together with family members and friends (all first timers). Exploring Hongkong became an instant adventure for all of us as we don’t have the luxury of having a tour guide to make it easy for us to move around.
We we’re like lost kittens as soon as we entered the airport. Everyone was busy looking and asking for directions just like contestants from the popular show “The Amazing Race” haha!
We got our first taste of being lost as the bus that we took from the airport exceeds us two stations or roughly 5 or 6 kilometers from where we told him we were supposed to alight. A case of miscommunications or wrong pronunciations perhaps. Whatever haha! We forgot to bring out our mini netbooks from our bags and search for maps, as the whole place is wifi zone.
The look of a bunch of 11 weary people carrying assorted bags (that’s us) must have caught the attention of a concern citizen who then instructed us to took the subway to easily find our destination, we actually spend our first four hours in HK (ETA in Hongkong International Airport down to slumping on our beds) wandering on an uncommon place before we finally reached our hostel an hour past midnight.

Last October 1, 2011 was a big day for several officers and members of PCC (PnSers Camera Club). As we joined for the first time the famous “Scott Kelby’s Annual World Wide Photowalk”, which I think its now on its 3rd year.
So basically, what is a photowalk? Well, according to Scott Kelby’s worldwidephotowalk website.
It’s a social photography event where photographers get together (usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town) to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers.
Photowalkers from different countries, cities and location from around the world would simultaneously go for a photowalk on October 1 and 2, 2011, and we (PCC) opt to registered for the Quezon City (Memorial Circle) photowalk, with Sir Tilak Hettige as our Walk Leader. I think we’re about 40 photography hobbyist that day. With PCC being the largest delegation.
Participants are then are invited to join the photo contest and submit their best shot for that day. Leaders would then pick one, and that one will get the chance to be chosen as Scott Kelby’s Grand Winner for the year.
Hoping a PCC member shines on this contest
p.s. as you can see my bike “BIKO” is included in the group shot lol!

Yahoooooohh!!!! I’m ranting and raving tonight as I nailed the 4th place out of 80 entries submitted by photographers from around the world at DPReview Photo Challenge – “Get A Room You Two!“.

Now I know what Shamcey Supsup feels after she’s crowned 4th place in the recent 2011 Miss Universe pageant haha! It feels soooooohhhh gooooood!!!!
The grin on my face has almost reached my ears as I’m reading the notification email from dpreview about the photo challenge results. I’ve actually joined more than a dozen photo challenge from them in the past, and this is the closest ranking I got from the top. Its unprecedented!!!
Thanks to all who voted for my entry “Tire Hoppers”!
