SOPA or Sopas?

Ever been curious about the SOPA controversy? The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) is a US bill by U.S. Representative Lamar S. Smith to increase the powers of the U.S. law enforcement in fighting online trafficking of copyrighted properties and counterfeit goods. There is a lot of controversy going on around this issue with even a few major websites like Tumbler and Firefox displaying black banners over their logos and Wikipedia declaring a 24 hour black out to show it’s protest against said bill. If you try compiling all the signature campaign sheets against this, you might actually need a pdf page counter to automatic compute the totality.

Now, you might be wondering how this can affect us here in the Philippines, and most Filipinos are just irritated and not seriously bothered as to how this can affect our online lifestyle. With SOPA in effect, the US law enforcement has the power to take any website, be it within or outside the boundaries of the United States of America, taken down and banned from search engines as long they have been found guilty of “dedicated theft to US property”. This means that even a tiniest post or pic can bring down an entire forum and is just a minute example of what this bill is capable of. So guys, its up to you if you still want SOPA or just a hot SOPAS for snack lol!

Save those important files on CD

Christmas and new year season is always a great time for reunions. Be it elementary, highschool, college or family reunions, I’m sure you’re bound to attend one or perhaps you’ve already been to one. And the fun things about these reunions aside from the food, music and reminiscing stories? Having the chance to create new ones by having lots and lots of pictures taken.

But of course, after all the posing and stuff, you have to find a way to make sure everyone gets a copy so those memories will stay fresh and not be buried in your computer files. Good thing there’s Disc2Day.com cd duplication where you can give your cd and they will take care of duplicating your stuff for distribution. That way, everything stays forever.

My aging lappie

Time flies fast! Next thing I knew is that my laptop (Averatec Buddy) would turn two years old next month. It really serves me well throughout the years and it doesn’t give me any headaches at all, plus it does its job well! That’s why I’m not considering looking for a replacement sooner.

With all the current “price tempting” laptops displayed at the malls, I’ll still continue using my lappie and just save my moolahs for other stuff. A tablet maybe.
