Kudos to the DepEd ICT Team for winning the “Best Team Project” in the recent APEC e-learning Training Program held recently in South Korea. Together with other participating country of APEC (Brunei, China, Indonesia, Russia, Malaysia and Thailand).
The Philippine Team presented an information system (with real-time data via a web-based technology) that speeds up data retrieval and reporting. Which eventually becomes more effective for end-users and on which schools from far flung areas can submit or accept reports more efficiently to the central office.
The group came from different field of expertise, like project development, budget, and implementation. which in one way or the other contributed their best to the team. They are composed of Team Leader Roger Masapol and Mary Jane Bautista (both from DepEd Office of Planning Service), Arturo Tuazon of EDPITAF Education Development Programs Implementing Task Force and Jesus Dela Merced of Financial and Management Service.
Assistant Secretary Jesus Mateo believes on the ICT team and supports their winning team project for a possible funding by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
This shows Filipinos really have an edge in Information Technology. Who knows maybe someday their names would be internationally popular like Manolo Blahnik.
