GY6 Scooter under repair

After nearly four years of riding Geely I really don’t have any major repair of her, until now.

  • Its bendix drive is malfunctioning, most of the time it just slides when I clicked on the electric starter. Plus it creates a lot of ticking noise when the engine is idle. I have a mechanic fixed it before, he only tightened the allen bolt from the bendix and suggested that I replaced it with a new/surplus taiwan GY6 parts ASAP.
  • Gear oil leaks due to a worn -out O-Ring inside the gearbox
  • Motor oil leaks thru the starter motor gear because of a flattened O-Ring
  • Fuel cock is not functioning properly also. Its either the carburetor lacks gas or was overflowing
  • I have to replace the pulley also. I have changed it before with a racing pulley and it really makes Geely run fast on the high-end. But now its now a bit noisy due to worn-out plyballs and also its surface is not that smooth anymore both front and back. I think I’ll just return it to an ordinary pulley.

    Simple Background Editing

Posted by raredog in Two Wheels etc.., Te... | 03.22.2007 - 8:43 pm

    Steps
    1. Using Photoshop. Open the photo you want to edit then duplicate it to serve as back-up just in case you got mistakes, then click the eye on the left side of the layer to make it invisible.
    2. Then from the duplicated copy, I used the lasso tool to select the portion of the photo to be deleted.
    3. After that, open the photo you want as the background. Put it above the layer of the duplicated copy.
    4. Adjust the size of your background photo to fit nicely at the back of the original photo.
    5. Then apply filter/blur/gaussian blur/4.5 pixels or more.
    6. That’s it, you have changed the background of your photo.

    Scooter Background

Posted by raredog in Two Wheels etc.., Te... | 03.20.2007 - 7:24 pm

1894 – The first successful production two-wheeler was the Hildebrand & Wolfmueller, patented in Munich. It had a step-through frame, with its fuel tank mounted on the downtube. The engine was a parallel twin, mounted low on the frame, with its cylinders going fore-and-aft. It was water-cooled and had a radiator built into the top of the rear fender. The bike became the first powered two wheel vehicle to be offered to the public on a production basis and was crucial in its move away from the foot pedal as the main source of engine power. Maximum speed was 40km/h. The rear wheel was driven by pistons similar to those in a locomotive. Only a few hundred examples of this model were ever built. Apart from the high purchase price, technical difficulties prevented the bike from becoming a commercial success. The venture ended up as a financial failure for both Wolfmüller and his financial backer, Hildebrand. Read more…
