The much awaited online payment scheme “Paypal” is now available in the Philippines (in full blast). Before you could only send money thru it, now you could do both (send and recieve).
What a wonderful news for all my co-bloggers, webmasters, pinoy ebayers and technopreneurs. I couldn’t imagine the impact it would create on Philippine Online Business (definitely more hits and traffic) . Filipinos would be much more competitive globally via e-commerce, and eventually help the country on its dollar deficiency.
I wonder what’s on their mind (Paypal and Google Adsense CEO’s) as they both have an early christmas gift for all of us. First Paypal’s full mode, and now the tie-ups of Adsense and Western Union. 
I’ve heard stories before that Adsense cheque’s sometimes got lost on the snail-mail and if you choose via courier, they charged you with a whooping $24 for the safe delivery, Whoa! And finally they gave us options to recieve our money via Western Union (which is all over the place, yessss). Its now worry-free for our hard-earned payments to reach us. And best of all its FREE! The icon above is the cute green button you’ll see mostly on blogs owned and made by pinoys! And I’m proud to announce that it now reaches 200+ members!
It’s the icon for my experiment topsite “Sikat Ang Websaytko S.A.W.” (My Website is Famous) which I’d started last June 17, 2007 (Father’s Day). I was inspired to make a topsite when I saw one at ranking.pinoyblogosphere.com.
I had a hard time installing it because I don’t have enough carnal knowledge on Php, MySql, etc… And I only known the word Captcha during this project (unluckily the Captcha did not work on my topsite). But since gusto ko talaga magka-topsite, kaya ayun nakuha sa pilit hehehe.
It’s not easy din for my host kase the server is doing a lot of work, specially with that green button (button.php) which was simultaneously being accessed from different sites.
S.A.W. topsites actually bogged down for 3 days last July 6 – 9, 2007. Too bad I don’t have a backup. So from the original 45 members it went down to 16 new members when I started from scratch again last July 10, 2007. By August 5 it reaches 101 members including my site. And finally this October 2, 2007, a milestone! (duh milestone daw oh!!!) it reaches 201 members.
It’s my own little way of showing to the whole world the best of Blogs and Websites from the Philippines. At sana marami pang sumali at sana maging matatag yung server ko (I’m hoping many would still join and that my server will be robust enough.)
I would also like to thank Jeremy Scheff (Aardvark Topistes Php) for making the wonderful topsite script and making it free. A more server-friendly updates perhaps in the near future sir. And last but not the least, to all members of S.A.W. Maraming Salamat po! At Mabuhay po ang websayt nating mga Pinoy!
