Yahoo! Mail now with Anti-Phising

Yahoo is promoting a new security features for their members who utilize Yahoo Mail. It makes the end-user of the computer to visually know that they’re not on some phony website that was created to steal your personal information.

It works by assigning a seal (either a photo or a secret message) that Yahoo will display on your login page. So the user will have to look for it every time they sign to make sure they’re on a genuine Yahoo site.

I’ve tested it right away, and in just a few clicks  I can see my photo on the login page of Yahoo Mail. Cool! There’s only one flaw I’ve observed, and that is I have to do the procedure all over again once I deleted my cookies (which I usually do). Overall its a great move by Yahoo to protect its members from phising!

What is phishing?
Phishing is when a fraudster sends you an email or link, claiming to be from a legitimate company. They’ll often send you to a fake website they’ve created, and trick you into entering your password and personal information. You’re then an easy target for account theft.

More than meets the Eye

I was inside Sta Lucia East Grand Mall when I noticed from a distance a small crowd of people watching two large objects. At first I thought they were only mascots from some food chains. But when I come nearer that’s when I saw it clearly. It’s Megatron and Optimus Prime of the famous animated film Transformers (during late 80′s). watch it here

A simple tweak in your registry, and you can login all your YM accounts at the same time.

Here’s how:

1. Go to Start / Run.
2. Type regedit, then hit ENTER.
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_ USER / Software / Yahoo / Pager / Test
4. On the right page, right-click and choose new Dword value.
5. Rename it as Plural.
6. Double click and assign a decimal value of 1. (even 2, 3 etc..)

That’s it! You’re done. That’s how easy it is.

You can now open your Yahoo Messenger and login with your main ID. Then click the Yahoo messenger icon again to create a new instance or you can go to Start>Program>Yahoo Messenger then click Yahoo Messenger. You will notice that it will open another YM window allowing you to login with a different login id. So no more logging out and logging in to check other accounts. Enjoy chatting…
