Horror Films

I didn’t get any sleep again. I wish my medicine cabinet had some of the best sleeping pills available so I get some decent sleep. As for why, well…

I did a movie marathon just last night, since most of DVDs were rotting in a corner of my cabinet. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong titles to watch.

Just think about this… I was alone in our sala at 9 PM in the evening, right in front of our widescreen TV, the lights off and I’m wrapped around my blanket… watching the Japanese versions of “The Ring”, “The Grudge” and the Taiwan version of “Shutter”.

I had to wait until daylight before I could sleep. Seriously, horror movies these days are getting freaky. There was a time in my life when I thought Regan from the Exorcist movie was scary, but the girl from Shutter… brrr… I’m getting goosebumps just from thinking about her.

Lessons in life after this? Never watch Asian horror films at 9 PM in the evening unless you’re aiming for a “Number of Days Without Sleeping” World Record

Green Teas

Posted by raredog in A.U.T.S., Anonythor,... | 08.19.2009 - 10:39 am

So recently I was able to get my hands on this really cool, stainless steel thermos… unfortunately, it also came with this box of green tea leaves. It didn’t smell too good, unlike the bags of supermarket teas I often find, so I was thinking of burning them until furnace filters can’t get a single speck out of it.

But being the curious person that I am, I tried it out. It doesn’t taste so bad, although I have to make sure to not steep it too long because it turned a bit bitter after a while. Not to mention there were bits of leaves left in the thermos after I drank.

Anyway, I found out that green tea is great source of anti-oxidants, and also could prevent some types of cancers, reducing negative effects of bad cholesterol, and in my case, after drinking the tea, reduced my intake (since I particularly hungry before drinking the tea).

I’d have to get used to drinking it, though. Specially since I can’t put sugar into it. I’m going to trade green tea from my usual early morning coffee from now on.

Shakira versus Beyonce?

Posted by raredog in A.U.T.S., Anonythor,... | 08.17.2009 - 4:38 pm

Have you guys seen the latest music video of Beyonce? It’s for her song “Sweet Dreams” from her new album “I Am… Sasha Fierce”… and boy, she looks hot. I’m pretty sure that women would fawn over weight loss pills and gym memberships after seeing this video, since it seems like every woman on Earth wants to be like her.

I don’t normally criticize musical artists, but somehow the new issue between Shakira and Beyonce is kind of weird. I find it strange that people keep comparing these two in their musical talents and appearance. In their musical abilities, they both have different styles and techniques. And for their appearance, Beyonce might be more exotic looking, but Shakira is a beautiful woman too (not to mention her dancing is awesome!)

I think that they’re just inspired with each others success, which is why they seem like they’re “imitating” each other. And I hope that people would just stop with the comparison, since they’re both completely different and successful celebrities.
