This photo was taken during the The 2010 Hot Air Balloon fiesta in Clark Pampanga.

Hot air baloon is an expensive and extreme sport in many aspect, that one would need at least more than a cheap car insurance before embracing the sport.

The fear of tremendous heights, limited space, strong wind and bursting balloon are the main factors you will encounter up there. I’m sure all of these are nothing compare to what the sport enthusiast feels when they are airborne. The fulfillment and joy seeing the world from up there. Kudos to all who were into these kind of sports. Enjoy and fly safely! :D

Edible Grass

edible grass

Did you guys know that there’s such a thing as “edible grass”?

Also known as “Edible Easter Grass”, this starch-based food is not exactly the type of herbal colon cleanser you can use to replace your veggies. If anything, the stuff tastes more like paper, because it was mainly designed as decoration for Easter baskets.

Although some grasses are edible by humans, sometimes only portions of it can be used. Humans eat the seeds of wheat, rye, corn, barley and even rice. Yes, rice IS a type of grass. However, unlike cows that have 4 stomachs, humans can’t eat the stalks or leaves of these types of grass (even the type that grows in our front yards), because their fiber is very tough, and not suitable for our sensitive digestive systems.

Maybe someday, science can make a real edible grass for humans. But it would be a rather scary thought, because we might have to end up pooping like goats. (Ano yun? Itim na jolen? XD)

LocoRoco Game

locoroco

Sometimes, it’s the weirdest games that are the most addicting. :D

I’m talking about the aptly named LocoRoco (aptly named kasi nakaka-loko siya XD), released last 2006, where you control creatures that look like those gelatin-like beads you see in a prescription acne medication. But instead of actually controlling the creatures, you control the world it moves in by “tilting” it left or right.

Initially considered a children’s game due to it’s simple controls, the cute sounds, characters and challenging gameplay has also attracted adult gamers as well. Even if it was overshadowed by some games like Tekken and Daxter during the year of it’s release, it still many awards and it’s character was even awarded the honor to be the PSP’s mascot.

It kind of makes me want to buy a PSP for Sean Kirk. Maybe he might go loco over LocoRoco as well.
