Remember my post about the 3D Pinoy movie who’s looking for a sponsor? Well sad to say, it didn’t materialize. However the good news is that the 3D Movie “Connect-Ed” is now an official entry at the Aniboom Awards 2008, and its doing well on the stats!

By the way, you might mistaken it with another movie of the same title. Im talking about the upcoming movie of Barbie Xu (Meteor Garden) titled ” Connected”. Ron’s title has hypen on it, thus “Connect-Ed”. Actually that will be free publicity for Ron, and Barbie as well haha! If only Ron can give us some promotional items like keychain, I guess that will be the day!

With a very talented 3D animator like Ron Sapinoso I’m sure Connect-Ed has a big chance of winning! This will also be a big exposure for him and his works, and the whopping $50,000 worth of cash and prizes will just come in as bonus, lol! LTO Compound

While bikers were initiating their silent protest,  LTO personnel on the other hand has started displaying their loud tarpaulin (re: AO-AHS-2008-015) in their vicinity. As if they’re saying “GET READY BIKERS, WERE COMING TO GET YOU!” 

With all those undemocratic rules covering the sensational LTO guidelines, combo with the costly penalty to each violations, Im sure its enough to boil the blood temperature of any good ol’ biker in town.

I even witnessed how a casual biker was turned down with his registration papers by an LTO Inspector simply because his ride has no side mirror.

As told by the rider:

Rider: Sir bakit po dati pede naman i-rehistro ito kahit walang side mirror?

LTO Inspector: Malas nyo sir, inabot kayo ng bagong guidelines. Hindi na po uubra ngayon yung ganyan. 

So I guessed even if we were lucky not to be apprehended on the streets. In the end, we still need to register our bikes on their camp and comply with their ridiculous rules? God Save the Bikers.

One funny thing I’ve observed during my boring time at their office. The motorcycle that was assigned for practical exam are full of modifications haha!

Red and Black Ribbon Campaign

When it rains it pours! If it were some blessings then good, but unfortunately it was a dilemma! This are what pinoy bikers are experiencing right now. It’s a concoction of misery, unwiseness and silliness. I’m talking about the “pathetic” law by the LTO, the AO AHS 2008-015. Which according to the bikers has so many gray areas on the modification part, and discrimination against bikers are very much obvious. It’s like the author/s of this law really hates motorcycles and bikers! Actually even shop owners and manufacturers of after market parts are affected by this law.

Last week some bikers prepared some presentation to elaborate their side to the LTO thru a workshop but I’ve heard it just fell into deaf ears. And yet LTO is cooking another Anti-Biker law. They’re suggesting to place another license plate number in front of every motorcycle! wtf!

LTO Side - With rising number of crimes involving the use of motorcycles, the Land Transportation Office on Monday said it is planning to issue two license plates to motorcycle owners - instead of only one - for easy identification and protection of motorcycle owners.

LTO chief Alberto Suansing said issuing two license plates similar to that being issued to other vehicles can help law enforcers trace owners of motorcycles used in criminal activities as well as those involved in vehicular accidents.

Bikers’ sentiments

Kung ako isang KRIMINAL,
bakit ko gagamitin ang TUNAY NA PLATE NUMBER
sa aking motor???

Sino ba namang TANGA na kriminal na gumamit ng totoong plate number sa motor nya?

kahit lagyan nila ng plate number pati ung tagiliran ng motor kung wala pulis sa kalsada o magpapatupad ng maayos sa batas, balewala din….

sabi sa balita, nahihirapan daw humabol ang otoridad sa mga masasamang loob o ma-determine na masamang loob kaya dapat may plate number sa harap…. ano daw???? by putting plate number in front of motorcycle madadali kaya silang humabol? another thing is, di ba mas madaling makita ng humahabol ang plaka na nasa likod?

malabo tong bagong rule na to, ang kriminal, usually ang ginagamit na motor eh yung hindi sa kanila at nakaw…sana maisip ng PNP at LTO ito

TIGILAN NA NILANG GAMITING ALIBI NA ANG MOTOR LAGING GINAGAMIT SA CRIME………

nangyayari ang krimen dahil sa kahirapan ng buhay ng tao sa Pilipinas at hindi dahil may motorsiklo ang tao

ito ang pinakasensible na statement dito. it’s never about security, it’s never about our safety. it’s all about the money that they hope to generate kaya nila iniisip ang mga ito.(the AO and now this) - for 2010 elections perhaps?

In light of the situation, bikers nationwide are starting to do a silent protest dubbed as “Black and Red Ribbon Campaign“. A biker needs to tie this ribbon on his/her bike to show rejection to this AO crap and to share awareness and unity to other bikers as well.
