History repeats itself as me and my childhood friend Romel De Vera was at the same place 30 years ago, sitting on a BMX (this time its original and sad to say it’s not ours haha, thanks Kuya Alvin!) as we spend an afternoon at the back of Folk Arts Theater together with the 80’s BMXers FB group in celebration of World BMX Day 2017.
It was an awesome afternoon as guys whose ages were more or less the same like us were all over the place, biking, freestylin, hitting the ramp, making selfies and groupies, or simply chit-chatting with one another while reminiscing the past. Nakita ko din dun mga idol ko sa ramp at mga nakakarera namin sa Jammin Jay at sa Philcite nung araw haha!
Good thing our client/ride buddy Kuya Alvin invited us to attend the event, ok lang daw kahit wala kaming BMX, at least daw eh magkitakita at magka bonding ulit kami.
I was surprise that I could still able to do the Infinity Roll, yun nga lang nung pinaulit sa akin para ma videohan eh wala na sablay na kase hilo na ako haha! Unlike the two young flatlanders from Mariveles, Bataan na nandun din sa place exhibiting their amazing spinning talent on BMX, wala silang mga hilo hehe!
Can’t wait for the 2018 celebration haha!
Watch my video and see the radness and awesomeness that day!

I think I heard the word SHIT a thousand times that day haha! Our bodies were unprepared for this task kaya ayun katakot-takot na sakit ng katawan ascending and descending (actually until now, 2 days na nakalipas sakit pa din hita at binti ko haha!), 1278 foot elevation ba naman, tapos 3 hours kami nag hike and sometimes I crawl kase nakakatakot madulas sa mga matatalas na batuhan! Hirap ng trail grabehh! At summit 2 we need to climb via rope yung 20 foot peak kaya talaga naman total workout, ngayon lang talaga tumagaktak ng todo pawis ko sa buong katawan haha!
But this one of a kind experience is liberating ika nga ni Romel na kasama kong umakyat. Sobrang fulfilling nung nasa summit 2 na kami or yung peak na. Balewala yung init ng araw kase ansarap tignan ng 360 degrees yung mga kabundukan ng Sierra Madre.
Need to go on a diet as you can see on my photos, yung tummy ko lutang na lutang haha! Because the Tres Separados are planning to climb more mountains in the near future haha!
Here is our adventure video at Mount Pamitinan
Its easy to get loco with this cute camera because even at its small size it has lots of features to offer! Its also handy and can shoot to almost any angle you can think of. You just have to be creative because this camera has gone where every other cameras have not. 😀
I just did a DIY LENS HOOD out of a rubber bushing which I found on my neighbor’s auto shop. The diameter is much bigger than the GoPro lens, so I cut a small portion, then glued both ends to fit well into the GoPro lens. The lens hood not only protects the lens from sudden camera drop but also produces a beautiful vignette on my photos as you can see below. But of course I can easily removed it if I wanted to. 😀
One of the great features of GoPro that I have found out recently was the BURST MODE. Now shooting a jump shot (above photo) can be done in just one click, no more mistakes haha! My settings here is 12MP – 10/1 Wide – Remote Shutter
This shot I made (from my mobile phone) when I stopped at a crossing while filming the video below.
My very first long video using my GoPro happened last December, during our barkada’s reunion.
and my latest wacky video of myself while driving and singing “Bring that Booty” by my rap duo idols, MastaPlann 😀
