Have you been to a single place where there’s literally a beach and a desert? Well I’d just had, It’s at Cagbalete island! Together with my posse at Pinoy Drift Trikes, we go for a 3 days and 2 nights adventure to this beautiful and awesome island in Mauban, Quezon, and because of its white sand, the locals even put up a sign that says “Cagbalete, the Boracay of the South”!
Okay so how this phenomenon be? The beach and the desert? It’s like hitting two birds in one stone. I mean its like you’ve traveled on two different places but actually one.
So here’s how I experienced it; Until 9 in the morning everyone could swim, dive or simply dip at the beach, where the deepest part I think is around 6 feet or more. But when low-tide begins past 9 am, that’s when this unusual occurrence happens. Water around more than half-kilometer radius from the shore will slowly vanish and this would bring out what looks like a sandy desert all over the place.
As first timers at the island, we were stoked! Locals told me this occurrence happens only during summertime where low-tide at the beachfront is much more extremely wide and far. If one has to leave the island, he or she has to walk for about 20 to 30 minutes on this sandy desert to reach the boat station. 😀
Bottomline, we had an incredible adventure at the place plus my memorable sunburn which is falling in flakes just as I wrote this blog haha!

To those who missed it on television, I’m blogging and bragging our segment/story video on Matanglawin which was aired yesterday, October 14, 2012.
Television is such a big exposure in making drift trikes popular, and I congratulate the whole staff of Matanglawin specially to Charizze and of course to the main man of Matanglawin no other than Kuya Kim for doing a great job in making our episode such an eye candy to the televiewers and sports fanatics. Our Facebook fanpage (Pinoy Drift Trikes) received numerous LIKES and were flooded with such wonderful comments from those who’ve watched it! Cool! 😀
I was hoping that sponsorships will soon follow. Energy drinks like Red Bull, Cobra, Gatorade, Rockstar and the likes, or maybe from gears and helmets too like Spyder, LS2, Rudy Project, Oakley and Fox, as we plan to have some drift trike competition in the near future. 😀
